Quilts have been around since the beginning of time, in a variety of ways and for a variety of purposes. A quilt brings together scraps of new fabric or cloth from worn garments, that are sewn together as symbols of good times, a portrayal of a story or important event or as a beautiful creation of art.

Quilting is part of Waterloo Region’s heritage and we are known as “the Quilt Capital of Ontario”. Join us at the 2012 IPM Quilt Garden Show where over 200 quilted articles will be displayed and judged.

The 2012 International Plowing Match Quilt Competition is open to all. This is a great opportunity to showcase your quilting skills to a large and enthusiastic audience. The 21 categories offer something for every taste and technique. All entries will be displayed during the quilt show held in August at the New Dundee Community Centre — August 10th and 11th, 2012, when judging will take place and prizes will be awarded.

All quilts entered will be exhibited in the Lifestyles Area at the 2012 Waterloo Regional International Plowing Match and Rural Expo, September 18th – 22nd, 2012.
