2012 International Plowing Match Worship Celebration September 16th, 2012, 7:00 p.m. at Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Rd. (at Fischer-Hallman), Kitchener. Doors open:  6:00; Pre-service music begins at 6:15 p.m.

Every year the International Plowing Match is preceded by a Worship Celebration designed to remind all of us that it is the Lord, our God, who provides the elements needed for life, health and happiness.  Our cities, towns and rural areas are all fed by the bounty that comes from the land the Lord has given us.

The 2012 Worship Service planning committee is excited to announce that everything has come together for a wonderful Worship Celebration.  The Ayr-Paris Band will bring instrumental music before and after worship and accompany some congregational singing.  The Waterloo Mennonite Choir will lead our congregational singing, some of it accapella, and provide special music.  The Waterloo Region Special Education Choir, the Gloryland Chorus and Faith FM Shining Star winner Dana Marie Hoekstra, a contemporary Christian artist, will also enrich our worship with inspiring music.

The speaker for our celebration will be Father James Profit, a priest trained in agriculture (B. SC. Agr.), rural sociology (M.A.), and theology (M.Div., STM).  James is the founder of the Ecology Project and is on staff at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre of Guelph.  His love for the outdoors was nurtured by his upbringing in Prince Edward Island and by living in Jamaica and Manitoulin Island.  Father Jim is warm, personable and an excellent communicator.  We are looking forward to what the Lord will say to us through him.  You can check out some of his writings online @ http://ignatiusguelph.ca/ecology/james.html

We would love to have you join us for this time of worship and honouring God our Creator, Provider, Sustainer, Saviour, Forgiver and Friend.
