We started Tuesday, Heritage Day with Aboriginal drummers to attract people to our tent. Reminiscence Journey is highlighted in our tent with Three Sisters Soup made by Rod Miller of Six Nations, Pennsylvania Dutch treats from Joseph Schneider house and Scottish fare from MacDougall house- to name a few.

Wednesday features fresh local foods and a healthy lifestyle- so important for us today. Please come out to enjoy a discussion on Laughter as Medicine, by Dr. Ken Shonk. You can taste quinoa salad which is gluten-free, made by our own Karen Stickel of the Silver Spatula and Dr. Chanel Cressman of Sage Naturopathic. And try asparagus fusilli from Barrie’s Asparagus and Farm Market, in a dish prepared by Chef John-David Jacobsen from Borealis Restaurant.

Kitchener Market will be hosting Thursday, our Diversity Day with an international flair, featuring some of their vendors. Meet Chef Terry who will present International Cuisine and Chef D who will feature seafood from Caudle’s Catch. Also taste gourmet cuisine from Indulge and curried chicken from the Caribbean Kitchen.

Friday is Urban Chic and Country Charm. Who can resist rolled ribs from Angie’s Kitchen, or Cooking with Sin and Carla Johnson? Anna Olson, who you will know from her shows on TV, will be here for Home Hardware, preparing family favorites. Our other celebrity chefs are Elizabeth Baird, who was food editor for Canadian Living for many years, Rose Murray a celebrated cookbook author from Cambridge and Emily Richards, a well-known , local home economist . They will be working together to showcase fun with food.

Saturday is Family Day in the Food tent. You can learn how to use food as art, as demonstrated by TJ Cushing, how to eat a rainbow, with Erica Holinski and how to prepare a spice rub and slow cook pork with Chris Corrigan of the Lancaster Smokehouse.

These are only a few of our talented demonstrators and delicious recipes. Watch for our program in the Record to see more details!

Come to our tent, relax and enjoy the sights and tastes of Waterloo Region!
